Mona Bafadhel is Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Oxford and a Consultant Respiratory Physician. Her work deals with cures and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – defined as a condition that makes it harder for patients to breathe (because of inflamed airways).

She is looking at the connection between COPD and the use of inhaled steroids (these are usually prescribed for asthma).
