Spotify the podcasting giant is making some changes to how users consume podcasts. In the next few weeks, users will be able to read auto-generated podcast transcripts. The idea is still being trialled so it will only be available on Spotify Original and Exclusive content.
Users can also scroll through the content and navigate to the bit they want to listen to.\
A Spotify press release said, “This is just the first step for the podcast transcript experience: Our overall ambition is to enable transcripts across all podcasts on Spotify.”
This is a really important update for those who may be hearing impaired. The company believes it will open up podcasts to a wider audience.
Spotify says it reaches over 356 million people around the world and accessibility is an important issue for the website. “We’re continuously making accessibility improvements to the experience to help many of our users enjoy the songs and podcasts they love more easily.”
